I’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott Himmel, an extraordinary interior designer and architect whose work consistently blends creativity, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of his clients’ aspirations.

Scott brings a uniquely human touch to every project—he listens closely, interprets vision with remarkable sensitivity, and transforms ideas into beautifully realized spaces that exceed expectations. Whether designing retail environments, residences, or offices, Scott’s thoughtful approach and attention to detail shine through in every phase of the work.

Over the years, I’ve collaborated with Scott on numerous projects—retail, apartments, homes, and offices—and have seen firsthand his ability to balance innovation with functionality. His professionalism, warmth, and design intelligence make him an invaluable partner and a trusted leader in any creative endeavor.

My background in art, fashion, and design, having previously worked as an auction house specialist and a frequent writer on artists and exhibitions for magazines, means that my personal taste is fairly eclectic. I have always admired Scott’s work — it is rare and refined, blending classic with contemporary, and bold elements of surprise, like the Yves Klein blue paint wall in my kitchen. When I asked what I might hang on the wall to finish the space, Scott replied, “nothing, it is enough on its own!” I realized that made sense — thought-provoking, contemplative and inspiring just like a work of art should be. His approach is rooted in the traditional training of his architectural background — impressive sketches by hand, in old school draftsman style — along with a deep knowledge and appreciation for the historical as well as modern decorative arts. And no matter if the project is big or small, from renovating an entire home floor-to-ceiling or simply updating a much used family space by adding touches here and there of new lighting, or re-upholstering chairs from the attic in a vibrant sophisticated fabric — he is as creative and talented as he is practical in his practice.

I have worked with Scott Himmel for years on several different projects. I couldn't have been more pleased. He is knowledgeable in architectural history and design. He did an extensive renovation on my 8000 sq foot apartment that was built in the 1920's. He maintained the classic architectural elements but made it exciting and warm for a young family. Another project he did for me was also in a classic 1920's apartment building where he combined two apartments. Scott designed a sensational kitchen with sophisticated terrazzo floor and a jaw-dropping color scheme. He also redesigned a 75 year old home in the suburbs. The paneled library is exquisite and flows into three other rooms. Scott is an accomplished architect and designer. I wouldn't work with anyone else. He takes your ideas and dreams and makes them a reality. A very happy and devoted client.
